Freshmen Application Instructions
Read the instructions below if you would like to start the application for admission.
Use the freshmen application if:
- You have never attended college OR
- You are enrolled in high school and college courses concurrently (regardless of the number of credits) OR
- You have attempted fewer than 12 semester college credits since graduating from high school.
If you do not meet at least one of these criteria go back and select a different application type.
Application Checklist
- Complete the application:
- Include the $45 application fee:
Online applicants may pay using Visa or Mastercard on a secure site.
Checks should be made payable to the "University of Nebraska". Include the applicant's name on the memo line of the check. - Contact your guidance counselor/high school to have them submit the following documents to the Office of Admissions:
- Request that your ACT/SAT test scores be forwarded directly from the testing agency to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Office of Admissions (Our ACT code is 2482; our SAT code is 6877.)
- Have you taken any classes for college credit? Contact the appropriate institutions to have your official transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions.
We will begin to review your application as soon as we receive all official documents needed to complete your file. It takes approximately two to four weeks to complete the application review and we will notify you by mail of your admission status.
