Returning Student Application Instructions

Use the Returning Student application if:

• You have previously attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln as a degree-seeking student and would like to return as a degree-seeking student.

If this does not describe you please go back and select a different application type.

Students seeking readmission must clear all holds (including deficiency holds) from their UNL record before their application for readmission will be considered. Academically Dismissed students must apply by December 1 for the Spring term and May 1 for the Summer or Fall term. 

Students who left UNL in good standing may apply up until the first week of classes.

Application Checklist

1. Complete the application
2. If you left UNL because of Academic Dismissal, you must also submit a Returning Student Questionnaire
3. If the last university you attended was UNO, UNMC or UNK, you must also submit a Change of Campus Form
4. Submit official transcripts from all institutions you have attended since you left the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

We will begin to review your application as soon as we receive all official documents needed to complete your file. It takes approximately two to four weeks to complete the application review and we will notify you by mail of your admission status.

As a reminder, information regarding application materials and admissions status may only be discussed with the applicant.
