Use the Transfer Application if:

  • You have graduated from high school AND
  • You currently are taking or have attempted more than 12 semester credits of college or university-level course work since high school graduation (or the equivalent).

If you don't meet both of these criteria go back and select a different application type.

Application Checklist

  1. Complete the application
  2. Include the $45 application fee:
    • Online applicants may pay using Visa or Mastercard on a secure site.
    • Checks should be made payable to the "University of Nebraska". Please do not send cash or overseas drafts. The applicant's full name must appear on the check or money order.
  3. Contact your high school to have them submit your official high school transcripts.
  4. Contact each post secondary institution that you have attended to request your official transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions.
  5. Nebraska Residents Only: To be considered for Transfer Scholarships, please submit the Personal Statement Form. Click here to download the personal statement form.

  6. Information on the University Honors Program

We will begin to review your application as soon as we receive all official documents needed to complete your file. It takes approximately two to four weeks to complete the application review and we will notify you by mail of your admission status.

As a reminder, information regarding application materials and admissions status may only be discussed with the applicant.

Applications After Published Admissions Deadlines

If you apply after the published semester deadline you may still be eligible for admission. Any application received after the published deadline will be placed on a wait-list. The Admissions Committee will prioritize the wait-list based upon candidates that meet UNL's assured admission requirements. The University of Nebraska–Lincoln assured admission requirements are listed on our website here.

Please note there is no guarantee of admission for wait-list applicants.
