The University of Nebraska-Lincoln requires a $250 ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT to be paid by the deadlines below to finalize your admission and secure your space in the incoming class.
- Spring 2012 Deposit Deadline: December 1, 2011
- Fall/Summer 2012 Deposit Deadline: May 1, 2012
The ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT is not a new fee. The $250 applies directly toward students' first expenses at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, such as orientation programs.
The ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT is required for all new Freshmen, Transfer and International students who are admitted.
The ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT allows the University to more effectively plan for class offerings and student resources in preparation for your arrival.
The ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT provides an incentive for students to actively consider their college choice on an appropriate timeline, which increases their selection in housing, New Student Enrollment dates and classes.
The ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT allows the University to more accurately report new student class data as part of the budgeting process.
Requests for deferment of the fee begin with the student completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students must also submit a formal application for deferment by May 1. Click Here to download the deferral request form.
If your deferment request is approved, your Advanced Housing Payment will also be deferred.

The ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT is fully refundable prior to the Deposit Deadlines.

If a student chooses not to attend UNL and did not request a refund on or before May 1, 2012, the student forfeit's the full amount of their ENROLLMENT DEPOSIT.

Admitted students who do not pay the deposit by prior to the deadline forfeit their admission and aid. Students may request reinstatement by sending a letter to the admissions committee at:
