For Full Scholarship Consideration

Out-of-state students will automatically be considered for the following merit-based general scholarships by applying for admission.

Qualifying students may only be awarded ONE of the following scholarships.

Pay attention to all due dates.

To be considered for need based scholarships, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before April 1 of your senior year.

Chancellor's Scholarship »

Award:
Full tuition + $2,000 annual stipend

Details:
  • finalists in nationally recognized scholarship competitions (e.g. National Merit or National Hispanic Scholarship) are eligible for consideration
  • Award is applicable for up to 4 years with 3 inclusive summers
  • take the ACT or SAT on or before the December test dates of senior year (entering freshmen only) in order to submit all materials by the due date

George Beadle Scholarship

Award:
$14,000 per year

Details:
  • award is for 4 years and 3 inclusive summers.

International Baccalaureate George Beadle Scholarship

Award:
$14,000 per year

Details:
  • award is for 4 years and 3 inclusive summers
  • score a minimum of 25 on the ACT or its equivalent on the SAT
  • enroll and complete the IB curriculum

Nebraska Legacy Scholarship

Award:
$14,000 or $7,000 per year

Details:
  • award is for 4 years and 3 inclusive summers
  • must be the child of an alumnus
  • take the ACT or SAT on or before the December test dates of senior year (entering freshmen only) in order to submit all materials by the due date

Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science & Management Scholarship »

Award:
Details:
  • Highly selective academic and scholarship program that educates you to be a leader in the technology driven 21st century. Selection is based on:
    • high academic achievement
    • outstanding leadership experience
    • demonstrated interest in computer science and business
    • career goals
  • must have a composite ACT score of at least 31, or a combined SAT score of at least 1380 (Mathematics and Critical Reading Total)
  • be in the top 10% of high school class ranking
  • plan to major in one of the below:
    • computer science
    • computer engineering
    • electrical engineering
    • mechanical engineering
    • business
    • mathematics
    • OR, other related field of study

Honors Program Scholarship

Award:
$500 textbook scholarship ($250 per semester)

Details:
  • a limited number of scholarships
  • for the fall and spring semesters for 4 years, or the completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first
  • have a composite ACT score of 30+, or a combined SAT score of 1340+ (Mathematics and Critical Reading Total)
  • be in the top 10% of high school class ranking
  • demonstrate a desire for academic rigor

Award:
  • $2,500
  • $500 Honors Program textbook scholarship
Details:
  • stipend provides the opportunity to participate in a UNL-sponsored study abroad program.
  • Honors Program textbook scholarship is awarded per year.
  • have a composite ACT score of 27+, or a combined SAT score of 1220+ (Mathematics and Critical Reading Total)
  • demonstrated leadership abilities and/or potential
  • plan to commit to a major in business
  • demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills

Award:
Ranges from $2,000 to the full direct cost of attendance

Details:
  • Renewable for up to 4 academic years (fall and spring semesters.)
  • Based on financial need and student's academic profile
  • qualify for Nebraska residency (view tribes eligible for NE residency)
  • freshman status (has not attempted 12 or more college credits post-graduation)
