Out-of-state General Transfer Scholarships

To be considered for a scholarship, a transfer student must have earned 14 or more credit hours, be admitted, and submit official high school and college transcripts by the relevant enrollment deposit deadline (December 1 for Spring or May 1 for Fall). We will not revise scholarships based on college work in progress that is completed after these dates.

There is no additional application required. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

• George Beadle Scholarship
  $12,500 per year; length of scholarship depends on the amount of credits earned at the time of admission. For students starting UNL with 14-52 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for three years and two inclusive summers. For students starting UNL with 53-89 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for two years and one inclusive summer.
• Nebraska Legacy Scholarship
  Must be the child of an alumnus for consideration. $12,500 or $6,500 per year; length of scholarship depends on the amount of credits earned at the time of admission. For students starting UNL with 14-52 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for three years and two inclusive summers. For students starting UNL with 53-89 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for two years and one inclusive summer.
• Midwest Student Exchange Program*
  Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) Scholarships are awarded to academically qualified students from Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, North Dakota, or Wisconsin who exhibit superior academic performance. Students meeting the MSEP academic requirements will be awarded the George Beadle Scholarship.
  *UNL does not participate in the MSEP at the graduate level.
• Ruth Leverton Scholarship
  $8,500 per year; length of scholarship depends on the amount of credits earned at the time of admission. For students starting UNL with 14-52 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for three years and two inclusive summers. For students starting UNL with 53-89 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for two years and one inclusive summer.
• Aaron Douglas Scholarship
  $3,000 per year; length of scholarship depends on the amount of credits earned at the time of admission. For students starting UNL with 14-52 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for three years and two inclusive summers. For students starting UNL with 53-89 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for two years and one inclusive summer.
• Honors Program Scholarship
  A limited number of Textbook Scholarships in the amount of $250 per semester, fall and spring semesters only, for four years, or the completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first, inclusive of all undergraduate coursework at all postsecondary educational institutions attended. Transfer students may apply to the Honors Program here. Please review the Honors Program website for more details about the program. Priority deadline for honors application deadlines are March 1: Summer/Fall and October 1: Spring. Applications are considered on a rolling basis.

• Native American Community / Tribal College Scholarship
