Out-of-state General Transfer Scholarships

To be considered for a scholarship, a transfer student must have earned 14 or more credit hours, be admitted, and submit official high school and college transcripts by the relevant enrollment deposit deadline (December 1 for Spring or May 1 for Fall). We will not revise scholarships based on college work in progress that is completed after these dates.

There is no additional application required. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

  • George Beadle Scholarship
    $12,284 per year up to 120 credit hours or until completion of degree, whichever occurs first, inclusive of all undergraduate coursework at all post-secondary educational institutions attended (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes).
  • Nebraska Legacy Scholarship
    Must be the child of an alumnus for consideration. $12,284 or $6,142 per year up to 120 credit hours or until completion of degree, whichever occurs first, inclusive of all undergraduate coursework at all post-secondary educational institutions attended (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes).
  • Midwest Student Exchange Program Scholarship
    Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) Scholarships are awarded to academically qualified students from Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, North Dakota, or Wisconsin who exhibit superior academic performance. A MSEP student pays 150 percent of the institution's regular resident tuition plus any required fees. This scholarship is valued at $9,160 for the 2011-2012 academic year (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes). The scholarship is applicable for up to 120 credit hours or the completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first, inclusive of all undergraduate coursework at all postsecondary educational institutions attended. *UNL does not participate in the MSEP at the graduate level.
  • Ruth Leverton Scholarship
    $8,108 per year up to 120 credit hours or until completion of degree, whichever occurs first, inclusive of all undergraduate coursework at all postsecondary educational institutions attended (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes).
  • Aaron Douglas Scholarship
    $3,072 per year up to 120 credit hours or until completion of degree, whichever occurs first, inclusive of all undergraduate coursework at all postsecondary educational institutions attended (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes).
  • Honors Program Scholarship
    A limited number of Textbook Scholarships in the amount of $250 per semester, fall and spring semesters only, for up to 120 credit hours, four years, or the completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first, inclusive of all undergraduate coursework at all postsecondary educational institutions attended. Transfer students may apply to the Honors Program using the application on the Admissions website. admissions.unl.edu/transfer/honors Please review the Honor Program website for more details about the program. honors.unl.edu  Priority deadline for honors application deadlines are March 1: Summer/Fall and October 1: Spring.  Applications are considered on a rolling basis.

Out-of-state Diversity Enhancement Transfer Scholarships

  • Native American Community / Tribal College Scholarship
    Full resident, undergraduate tuition for up to 120 credit hours or completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first. This scholarship requires an additional application due February 1. Diversity Scholarship Application
