The programs in the department are flexible, providing students with options for emphasis, as well as gaining a comprehensive experience with the curriculum. One year of Greek or Latin or Hebrew language is the current basic requirement for all major programs. Eighteen hours at the 300-level or above are required for the language majors, 12 hours at the 300-level or above are required for the language minors. For the Classics major 30 hours of courses in an interdisciplinary curriculum of art history and archaeology, language and literature, historical studies, and philosophy and religion are required. For the religious studies minor, a similar distribution of 18 hours is required. Students can devise various programs with the counsel of the departmental advising program. |
