The University of Nebraska–Lincoln invites you and your parent(s)/guardian(s) to attend the First Husker Workshop, an event tailored for students who will be the first in their family to attend college.

At Nebraska, we understand applying for college may feel overwhelming, so we want to help you as you take the next step in your education. Join other first-generation students at the First Husker Workshop to learn more about preparing for college, paying for school, engaging support and making your future. We’ve even set aside time during the event to walk you through the application.

Welcome to Nebraska

After a brief welcome to the event, students will have the opportunity to apply to the university. We encourage you to bring an unofficial transcript.

Student Success Sessions

Students will have the opportunity to learn about the different resources needed to succeed in the college search and on campus. Sessions will include information on scholarships and financial aid, visiting campus and university resources.

2:30 p.m.

Question and Answer Panel

At this time, students and parents can get their questions answered by university staff and students.

3 p.m.

Recognition Program

The recognition program will highlight the completion of the workshop and congratulate students on taking one step closer to being a First Husker. Refreshments will be served after the program.
