Event Details

The Twin Cities Husker Welcome is a special gathering for students admitted to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. This is your chance to meet your future classmates and imagine your life as a Husker—both on campus and after you graduate.

This event will be hosted by successful Nebraska alumni Troy and Kristin Heuermann. Join us for appetizers and refreshments, networking with local alumni, and a formal presentation from your Nebraska Admissions representative to help you learn more about your next steps to becoming a Husker.

This open house event will begin at 4 p.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. You are welcome to arrive at any time throughout the duration of the event.

There is no cost to attend and family members are welcome. Attire for this event is business casual.

Kristin & Troy Heuermann


Kristin Gasseling Heuermann attended Nebraska from 1990–1994. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1994. When she was a student at Nebraska, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, University Ambassadors, and the Mortar Board Honor Society. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from UNMC in 1998. Kristin’s Pediatric residency was at the University of Minnesota from 1998–2001, where she also served as Chief Resident from 2001–2002.

Troy Wayne Heuermann attended Nebraska from 1988–1992. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. While at Nebraska, he was a proud member of Farmhouse Fraternity, the Mortar Board Honor Society, served as a New Student Enrollment Orientation Leader, and was involved with ASUN Student Government.

Welcoming Remarks

Learn more about the next steps you need to take to become a Husker. Students will have the opportunity to mingle with other admitted students and hear from current Nebraska alums. Presentations will run periodically throughout the event.

Prize Drawing

Be in attendance for your chance to win exciting Husker giveaways.

5 p.m.

Event Concludes

Hear closing remarks from university staff and alumni and get any of your final questions or concerns addressed.
