The Essential Husker Experience is an open house visit designed to help you experience the best of Nebraska. During an Essential Husker Experience, you’ll tour campus with a current Nebraska student as your guide, explore your academic interests, learn more about student involvement opportunities and discuss your next steps to Nebraska.

Due to strict room capacities, capacity is limited. We recommend that high school seniors sign up for our March and April sessions. Our sessions in May are open to all high school students, specifically juniors. Students are allowed to bring only two guests. Pre-registration is required. We will not accept walk-ins. If you have any questions about this event, please contact the Nebraska Office of Admissions at 402-472-2023.

COVID-19 Event Information

In response to guidance from the CDC and the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health department, those who are fully vaccinated from COVID-19 are not required to wear face masks or socially distance—indoors or outdoors—on UNL campuses or in our facilities.

<<<<<<< HEAD All students, faculty, staff and visitors who are not vaccinated are expected to continue to wear face masks and practice social distancing. If you have not yet been vaccinated, we strongly encourage you to do so. Vaccines are readily available locally through the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department and local pharmacies. ======= The university will follow local and state health official guidelines for any limitations on group gathering sizes or restrictions. Check the city’s COVID risk dial and other important information here:

All visit and event participants and facilitators will wear facial coverings, in keeping with established campus policy. Temperatures of guests will not be taken by the Office of Admissions or University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Hand sanitizers will be available at every entrance/exit to a building as well as various other spots on campus.

The university has modified visit and event scheduling, locations and room arrangements (seating, tables, etc.) to facilitate six or more feet of physical distancing between attendees. Admissions staff has coordinated with facilities on any need for more frequent cleaning of high-touch points in high-traffic areas. We will adhere to facility and room capacities, entrances, exits and traffic flows established for physical distancing.

If you or any parent/guardian accompanying you have any related COVID-19 symptoms, do not come to campus. Please call the Office of Admissions at 402-472-2023 to have your visit rescheduled at a different date.

We encourage guests to use the 1-Check COVID-19 screening app (iOS/Android) developed by the University of Nebraska Medical Center. 1-Check COVID-19 enables individuals to privately answer a series of questions and assess their risk of having COVID-19. >>>>>>> next-chapter-nebraska
