What You'll Need

Before starting your application to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, take a few minutes to gather the materials listed below. Having everything ready will help make the process smoother and faster.

High School Transcript: A copy of your current official transcript, either a printed version or an electronic copy.

Senior Class Schedule: Include all current and planned courses. If your schedule changes later, email the updated information to admissions@unl.edu.

ACT/SAT Test Scores: While not required for admission, we encourage you to submit your official ACT/SAT composite score and individual sub scores for comprehensive scholarship consideration.

  • ACT Code: 2482
  • SAT Code: 6877

Dual Enrollment Transcripts: If you’ve taken college-level courses during high school, we encourage you to submit transcripts for the courses you have completed.

Social Security Number or ITIN Number: Required for federal financial aid consideration.

Personal Email Address: Use an email account that belongs to you, meaning the email address is not owned by a parent/guardian or high school institution. Ensure you will have access to this account after high school graduation so you can maintain communication with the university.

Tips for a Successful Application

Stay Organized

Use a note-taking app or a physical notebook to keep track of important information like your username, NUID number and MyRED account details.

Take Your Time

Filling out your application completely and accurately is crucial. The information you provide will be carefully reviewed to determine your eligibility for academic scholarships. Every detail matters!

Entering Your Academic Information

Multiple High Schools

If you attended more than one high school, list each school and enter the courses you completed there.

Senior Year Courses

Include all courses you’re currently taking and plan to take. If courses change or additional courses are taken after the first semester, email your admission counselor at admissions@unl.edu with the updated information.

Reporting Dual Enrollment Credit

If you’ve taken dual enrollment courses, report as both high school and college credit.

Use Accurate Titles: Match the course name to what’s listed on your transcript. If it’s not available in the dropdown, type it in manually.

Submitting Final Transcripts

Once admitted, students will be required to submit their final high school transcripts by the transcript deadline for their corresponding start term.

Applying to Honors Programs

You must complete your application to Nebraska before gaining access to the Honors Program application in MyRED.

The Honors Program application is a joint application, so you can apply to the University Honors Program, the Nebraska Business Honors Academy and the Raikes School of Computer Science and Management with a single application.

Do not submit your transcripts when completing the University Honors application. The review committees for these programs use the reported academic information from your initial application.
