The University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus is open to visitors for limited capacity visits by appointment or reservation only. With our visitors’ health and safety in mind, we have taken several precautions including requiring faces coverings and modifying visit and event scheduling, locations and room arrangements to facilitate six or more feet of physical distancing between attendees.

If an on-campus experience is not the right option for you, virtual experiences are available. Join us for one of our recurring online info sessions, virtual tours or for a 1-to-1 phone, video conference appointment.

About 65 miles from campus or around an hour drive. Here are some options for getting from OMA to your visit in Lincoln:

  • Car Rental
  • OMALiNK: Arrange for a shuttle van to pick you up when you arrive at the airport and take you directly to campus. Prices vary.


There is an Amtrak station in downtown Lincoln. It’s about a 1-mile walk to campus, or you can call a Lyft or Uber to pick you up. Visit for booking information.


When you drive to Lincoln, you’ll have many options for parking near campus. See the nearby garages in the map and don’t worry about the cost—simply bring your parking stub with you to your visit and we’ll validate it for you.

Getting around Lincoln

  • Rideshare: Lyft and Uber are both active in Lincoln and are typically available within 5-10 minutes of a ride request.
  • Walking: Downtown is very walkable and Lincoln has over 130 miles of trails throughout the city, many of them paved.
  • Bike rental: You can find bike-share units, called BikeLNK, throughout downtown Lincoln. Simply find a kiosk, pay a small fee to check out a bike and explore the city. Learn more at

  • A tour of the capitol building is a must-do for history and architecture gurus. Visit to plan yours.
  • Sheldon Museum of Art, located right next to City Campus, is a free-admission museum featuring plenty of eye candy and interesting artifacts.
  • Grab lunch and head to the Sunken Gardens for the perfect floral setting.
