Awarded to Nebraska residents transferring from a community college or four-year school who have demonstrated academic excellence and academic distinction at the highest level.
This award is a premier academic scholarship commitment for academic transfers from community colleges or four-year schools, including transfer students from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA).
Note: Not available to students transferring from UNO or UNK.
Award
Recipients are awarded up to $8,000 ($4,000/semester) toward University of Nebraska–Lincoln undergraduate tuition for up to two (more than 52 credits) or three years (52 credits or fewer).
Deadline
How to Apply
- Apply for admission by March 1 (for fall) or October 1 (for spring).
- Submit your college transcripts in MyRED.
- Submit your Enrollment Deposit in MyRED by May 1 for fall admits and December 1 for spring admits.
Review Basis
Transfer Chancellor's Scholars demonstrate academic distinction at the highest level. Selection is based on completion of at least 15 non-NU transfer semester credit hours at the time of application (hours must be completed and reflected on an official transcript by the application deadline) with a 3.750 cumulative transfer GPA or higher and last semester transfer GPA of 3.750 or higher. Must be working on a first bachelor's degree with no admissions deficiencies or previous cumulative NU GPA below 3.500.
Renewability
Renewable for one (more than 52 credits) or two (52 or fewer credits) years, students must maintain a 3.500 cumulative GPA and complete 24 credit hours for the academic year (fall/spring). See full guidelines for scholarship.
Transferability
This scholarship is offered by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The scholarship is not transferable in part or in whole to any other university or campus, including the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) or the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). This scholarship will not cover the cost of tuition for classes taken at UNO, UNK, NCTA or UNMC.
