2025 Important Dates and Deadlines
Date	Description
August 1	Nebraska's fall 2026 application for admission opens. View admission requirements.
October 1	Supplemental Scholarship Application opens in MyRED for admitted students. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form opens to apply for financial aid.
November 1	Priority Deadline Apply for admission by this date to be notified of scholarship awards on February 11.
November 15	Priority Deadline University Honors Program application. Deadline Nebraska Business Honors Academy application. Deadline Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science & Management application.

2026 Important Dates and Deadlines
Date	Description
January 14	Housing Application, Roommate Finder, Learning Community application and Themed Community opt-in process open in MyRED for those who have paid or deferred the enrollment deposit. Access is granted within 24 hours of submitting the enrollment deposit.
February 1	Admitted students who applied by November 1 are encouraged to file the FAFSA Form by this date to receive a comprehensive scholarship and financial aid offer February 11. Deadline In-state students must submit all admission application materials by this date to be considered for academic scholarships. Deadline Supplemental Scholarship Application.
February 11	Scholarship award offers available for admitted students who applied by November 1. Offers are viewable in the "Financial Aid" tab in MyRED after 5 p.m. CST. Offers include financial aid if the FAFSA Form was completed by February 1.
February 15	Deadline University Honors Program application.
February 25	Rolling scholarship notifications and updates begin for admitted students who applied for admission after November 1. Offers include financial aid if the FAFSA Form was completed by February 15. Scholarships are viewable in the "Financial Aid" tab in MyRED.
April 1	Priority Deadline Submit the Housing Application in MyRED by April 1 to receive a room assignment notification on May 20. Deadline First-Year Learning Community application and Themed Community opt-in due in MyRED. Learning Community notifications are on April 8.
May 1	Deadline Fall 2026 application for admission and enrollment deposit due. Deadline Out-of-state students must submit all admission application materials by this date to be considered for academic scholarships. Priority Deadline FAFSA Form.
May 4	New Student Enrollment (NSE) orientation, advising and course registration processes available in MyRED to those who have paid or deferred the enrollment deposit.
May 17	Panhellenic (Sorority) Primary Recruitment registration opens. Interfraternity Council chapters may begin offering bids.
May 20	Room assignment notification for those who submit the Housing Application on or before April 1. Rolling room assignment notifications begin on this date for those who submit the Housing Application after April 1, continuing throughout the summer.
May 27–July 9	First-Year In-Person Orientation dates. Advising and course registration processes remain available.
July 22	On-campus housing move-in date and time notification.
August 16–19	On-campus housing move-in (projected).
August 17–24	Big Red Welcome campus events for new Huskers. Includes a tunnel walk, class photo and street festival.
August 24	First day of fall courses.
