New Nebraskan Tuition Scholarship

Awarded to out-of-state students who have demonstrated high academic potential to offset the cost of out-of-state tuition.

Awards and Review Basis

Award: Not including summers and based on enrollment in 15 credits per fall/spring semester (prorated for enrollment in fewer than 15 credit hours per semester).

Review Basis: Selection is based on a holistic review that includes a balanced objective assessment of competitive academic achievement.

Award Review Basis
$20,000 toward University of Nebraska–Lincoln undergraduate tuition for the academic year ($10,000/semester) for up to four years. Extraordinary grade point average or in combination with an outstanding class rank and/or test score of 34 ACT (or SAT equivalent), with a subjective final academic review.
$18,000 toward University of Nebraska–Lincoln undergraduate tuition for the academic year ($9,000/semester) for up to four years. Extraordinary grade point average or in combination with an outstanding class rank and/or test score of 29 ACT (or SAT equivalent), with a subjective final academic review.
$16,000 toward University of Nebraska–Lincoln undergraduate tuition for the academic year ($8,000/semester) for up to four years. High grade point average or in combination with a high class rank and/or test score of 23 ACT (or SAT equivalent), with a subjective final academic review.
$14,000 toward University of Nebraska–Lincoln undergraduate tuition for the academic year ($7,000/semester) for up to four years. Minimum 3.250 grade point average or otherwise strong GPA in combination with a high class rank and/or test score of 21 ACT (or SAT equivalent), with a subjective final academic review.
$12,000 toward University of Nebraska–Lincoln undergraduate tuition for the academic year ($6,000/semester) for up to four years. Minimum 3.000 grade point average with a subjective final academic review.

Review Basis

Selection is based on recognition in nationally recognized scholar competitions.

Renewability

Students must maintain a 2.000 cumulative GPA and complete 24 credit hours each academic year (fall/spring). See full guidelines for scholarship.

Transferability

This scholarship is offered by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The scholarship is not transferable in part or in whole to any other university or campus, including the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) or the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). This scholarship will not cover the cost of tuition for classes taken at UNO, UNK, NCTA or UNMC.
