Awarded to transfer students from a community college or four-year school who have demonstrated high academic potential and are affiliated with their campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK).
Note: Not available to students transferring from UNO or UNK.

Recipients are awarded a $1,500 ($750/semester) non-renewable scholarship commitment.

How to Apply
- Apply for admission by March 1 (for fall) or October 1 (for spring).
- Be nominated by your Phi Theta Kappa chapter advisor. Advisors may request access to the nomination form by emailing transfer@unl.edu.
- Submit your college transcripts in MyRED.
- Submit your Enrollment Deposit in MyRED by May 1 (fall) or December 1 (spring).
Review Basis
Phi Theta Kappa Scholars demonstrate academic distinction. Selection is based on PTK Chapter Advisor nomination. Up to one candidate may be selected from a chapter. The scholarship requires completion of at least 15 non-NU transfer semester credit hours at the time of application (hours must be completed and reflected on an official transcript by the application deadline) with a minimum 3.250 cumulative transfer GPA. Must be working on a first bachelor's degree.
Renewability
This scholarship is for one year only. The commitment serves as a placeholder until a student is matched with a specific donor-funded scholarship. Once a match is finalized, the PTK Scholarship Commitment will be updated and replaced with the awarded scholarship(s) by a different name.
Transferability
This scholarship is offered by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The scholarship is not transferable in part or in whole to any other university or campus, including the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) or the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). This scholarship will not cover the cost of tuition for classes taken at UNO, UNK, NCTA or UNMC.
