As a student interested in pursuing a career in health care, Pre-Health at Nebraska is the best way for you to discover the many opportunities that await you as a pre-health student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, including undergraduate research, lab teaching assistant positions and pre-health student organizations.

During the event, you'll learn why pre-health students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln are so successful and explore each of the university's pre-health disciplines.

By engaging with pre-health advisors and a panel of current students from a variety of fields, you'll leave the event feeling more confident about the future you want to pursue. With more pre-health students graduating from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln than any other school in the state, you're exactly where you need to be.

Space is limited. Registration will close when capacity is reached.

Cost is $5 per person; refunds will not be available.

12:30 p.m.

Check-in

Check-in will begin in the Nebraska Union (1400 R St.) at 12:30 p.m. At check-in, we’ll validate your Larson Building (1317 Q St.) parking and give you the necessary materials for your day ahead.

1 p.m.

Welcome Session

Get a "big picture" introduction to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. You’ll learn why Nebraska is a great place to start your future, what steps you need to take to apply and earn scholarships and how to be successful in and out of the classroom.

1:10 p.m.

Pre-Health at Nebraska

Receive a high-level overview of the 18 Pre-Health tracks and you can study at Nebraska. Understand what it means to be advised in the Explore Center as a Pre-Health student.

1:30 p.m.

Campus Tour featuring Laboratories

Experience what life is like as a student at Nebraska and visit campus lab spaces. We'll walk the tour, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. This tour will also include seeing a lab classroom.

3 p.m.

Pre-Health Breakouts

Understand what Pre-Health track you want to join at Nebraska. Tracks/Sessions are:

  • Prerequisite programs
  • Bachelor's degree required/preferred
  • Pre-Nursing
3:30 p.m.

Student Panel

Hear from current Pre-Health Nebraska students about their life on campus and how the Explore Center is supporting their path.

4 p.m.

Academics at Nebraska

You'll get to hear from college partners about how your Pre-Health track can be applied to their college. Colleges presenting include: College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business, College of Education and Human Sciences and College of Engineering.

4:30 p.m.

Information Fair

End your day by meeting with numerous colleges, student offices and student organizations and see how you can get involved on campus.

4:30 p.m.

Optional UNMC College of Nursing-Lincoln Tour

During this time you'll get to tour the UNMC College of Nursing to end your visit.

Parking & Check-In

Parking is available at the Larson Building (1317 Q Street) and Que Place (1111 Q Street) parking garages. No need to pay—your parking will be validated before you leave.
