Achievement-Centered Education

The Achievement-Centered Education (ACE) program is a general education program designed to help students in every major develop skills, build knowledge, exercise social responsibility, and integrate and apply those capabilities.

Scholarships

Nebraska offers a wide range of scholarships for incoming students. Encourage your students to complete the supplemental Scholarship Application to boost their eligibility for departmental, leadership and service-based awards.

FAFSA

All public high school seniors in the state of Nebraska are required to complete and submit the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form prior to high school graduation, implemented by Neb. Rev. Stat. § 79-729. The priority deadline to file is May 1. Financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nebraska Promise

Nebraska Promise covers in-state undergraduate tuition at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln for up to 30 credits per year. With Nebraska Promise, in-state students who meet academic qualifications and have a family income of $65,000 or less (Adjusted Gross Income/AGI) or are Pell Grant-eligible can attend tuition-free.

Military Connected Students

Nebraska is proud to support military-connected students and their families. Benefits like the Husker Salute Pledge, which waives the undergraduate nonresident portion of tuition—make it easier for out-of-state students to access an affordable, high-quality education.

ACT/SAT Policy

While not required for admission, we encourage students to submit their official ACT/SAT composite score and individual sub scores for comprehensive scholarship consideration.

Scores are only accepted directly from the testing agency to the university by electronic transmission or priority mail. Request official test scores from the testing agency to be sent directly to:

New Student Enrollment

The Office of New Student Enrollment (NSE) helps new first-year, transfer and international undergraduate students prepare for life as a Husker through academic advising, course enrollment, orientation and welcome week events.
