Experience for yourself what life is like as a student at Nebraska. During your Red Letter Day, you’ll tour campus with a current Nebraska student as your guide, explore your academic interests, visit a residence hall, learn more about student involvement opportunities, discuss important admissions, scholarship and financial aid information, and discover the many services that help students at Nebraska succeed.

Pre-registration vs. Walk-in

Because Red Letter Days fill up quickly, we encourage you to reserve your spot early. Walk-in registration is open only on a space-available basis the day of the event.

Your pre-registration will also allow us to prepare for your visit, ensuring you the best possible campus experience.

Program Fee: $10.00 per person. Sorry, no refunds on program fees.

Check-In

Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Nebraska Student Union Bookstore (1400 R St). At check-in, we’ll validate your parking and give you the necessary materials for your day ahead.

9:00 a.m.

Welcome to Nebraska

Get a “big picture” introduction to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

9:30 a.m.

Campus Tour

Experience what life is like as a student at Nebraska. We’ll walk the tour, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

10:30 a.m.

Academic Session 1

Choose from a variety of academic disciplines and learn more about your fields of interest in these breakout sessions hosted by our academic colleges and departments.

11:00 a.m.

Academic Session 2

Choose from a variety of academic disciplines and learn more about your fields of interest in these breakout sessions hosted by our academic colleges and departments.

11:30 a.m.

Lunch and Tour of Residence Halls

Enjoy lunch in one of our on-campus dining halls—the cost will be covered in your $10 registration fee. Following lunch, visit one of Nebraska’s traditional residence halls and see for yourself where you could be living.

1:00 p.m.

Being Successful at Nebraska

Students and parents will separate during this session. Learn more about four-year academic plans, academic advising, first-year opportunities, and what it takes to be successful at Nebraska—both as a student and as a parent.

1:30 p.m.

Student Engagement Session 1

Every college experience includes time spent outside of the classroom. We encourage students at Nebraska to live out their passions. During these engaging and interactive sessions, learn more about: student government, Greek life, intramural sports, clubs/organizations, Honors Programs, and more.

2:00 p.m.

Student Engagement Session 2

Every college experience includes time spent outside of the classroom. We encourage students at Nebraska to live out their passions. During these engaging and interactive sessions, learn more about: student government, Greek life, intramural sports, clubs/organizations, Honors Programs, and more.

2:30 p.m.

Closing Reception and Browsing Fair

Meet faculty and students from all academic colleges represented at Nebraska. Admissions staff are also available to help you navigate through the admissions process while addressing any other questions you may have.

3:00 p.m.

Additional Tours

At the end of the day, additional tours will be provided. You can request to visit Greek Life housing, East Campus, and more.

4:00 p.m.

Optional Memorial Stadium Tour

Tour Memorial Stadium and see where our Big Ten athletes train and compete. Memorial Stadium tours will not be available before home football games. We apologize for this inconvenience but this is for the safety of the players, coaches, staff and students attending the game.

A detailed schedule will be available the day of the event.
